Honda driver Rob Huff led the way in testing as the FIA World Touring Car Championship drivers tried out the new layout in Marrakech for WTCC AFRIQUIA Race of Morocco.
Huff achieved a best time of 1m22.451s towards the end of the 30-minute session, finishing 0.216 seconds clear of a last-lap attempt from Citroën’s José María López.
Huff’s fellow Honda Civic drivers Norbert Michelisz and Tiago Monteiro took third and fourth respectively, with the Hungarian just 0.011s behind López. Yvan Muller was fifth in the second Citroën, followed by LADA drivers Gabriele Tarquini and Nicky Catsburg.
Mehdi Bennani got his home event off to a good start by being the quickest in the WTCC Trophy in eighth, just ahead of James Thompson who is back in the ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Chevrolet Cruze for this weekend. Hugo Valente rounded out the top 10 for LADA.
